We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Biomedical Engineer / Sleep Science Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our modeling-based neurostimulation technology from its current successful research phase to a fully market-integrated, consumer-ready solution. Your work will serve as a bridge between research-grade devices and consumer-grade wearable EEG technologies, fostering innovation and ensuring our technology consistently sets new benchmarks in consumer sleep enhancement and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Development
Design, set up, and execute experiments to further optimize DeepSleep technology.
Translate and implement our neurostimulation methods on existing wearable EEG platforms, including potential hardware modifications.
Develop innovative solutions to address challenges such as variability in home soundscapes and mild hearing impairments.
Experimental Design & Execution
Conduct human subject experiments using advanced sleep monitoring systems, including both wearable EEG and polysomnography.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, biomedical engineers, and sleep experts to refine experimental protocols.
Evaluate signal quality and stimulation effectiveness by comparing data from wearable devices with state-of-the-art sleep monitoring systems.
Data Analysis & Programming
Develop and implement sophisticated signal processing algorithms using Python.
Analyze multidimensional neuroelectric datasets to gain insights into sleep patterns and the enhancement of restorative sleep.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with our team, which includes guidance from renowned experts such as Dr. Gina Poe.
Prepare scientific publications and technical reports detailing experimental findings.
Present research outcomes internally and at industry events, supporting the evolution of our product as we enter the next phase of development.
Product Development & Industry Engagement
Support the transition of DeepSleep technology from research to a consumer-ready product.
Collaborate with industry partners to integrate feedback from our successful CES 2025 debut into ongoing product enhancements.
Participate in strategic planning sessions to align research objectives with market demands.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Academic Background
Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
Technical Expertise
Demonstrated experience with hardware and software methods for recording EEG or other neuroelectric signals.
Proficiency in Python, with a strong background in developing and implementing signal analysis pipelines.
Solid expertise in analyzing neuroelectric signals, particularly EEG.
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Flexibility
Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the demands of experimental sleep research.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with wearable EEG devices.
Background in sleep science research or neurostimulation technologies.
Experience with interdisciplinary research, especially at the intersection of neurobiology, psychology, and engineering.
Familiarity with clinical and field-based sleep studies.
